some colours i chose from the 'threadworx' range arrived in the shop on friday about the same time as a friend popped in with some cup cakes for us to share. thanks margaret! seeing all these together just makes your mouth water ........... mmmmmm !
deidre has used some wonderful colours in this large and bold embroidery which will become a doorstop. take a look later to see the finished item. i was locked out of my house last week because i did not use the door wedge, how much more attractive will this look!
another happy saturday was spent with the girls and gail bett. each of them all doing their own thing, some finished pieces like jan's footstool with her fish happily swimming through life, take a look !
another of the wonderful series from carriage house called 'strawberry blonde'. she is literally entwined in the strawberry plant, for those who love strawberries......... what a wonderful place to be.
i have admired 'the girls' from carriage house for sometime and their chosen names by the designer were just as though they were made for me! there is 'elizabeth', that's me, 'molly', that was my mum and there is also 'mary margaret', my second name and that of my dear friend and also 'suzannah', a good strong name, but can't claim that one. hope you love them as i do, they are available as charts in the shop.
this design comes from 'carriage house' and for those who love alphabets in cross stitch, it is wonderful. it would be one to hold your interest through the stitching process because of all the different characters.
always remember to slow down in life;
live, breathe and learn;
take a look around you
whenever you have time
and never forget
everything and every person
that has a place within
twelve things to remember
the value of time
the success of perserverance
the pleasure of working
the dignity of simplicity
the worth of character
the power of kindness
the influence of example
the obligation of duty
the wisdom of economy
the virtue of patience
the joy of originality
the beauty of cheeriness

use the talents you possess,
for the woods would be a very silent place
if no birds sang except the best.
we can do no great things,
only small things with great love.
