australia day weekend is upon us and the first month of the year nearly gone already! i always love january though, as there seems no real urgency to do anything! while i was away for 3 weeks in hobart, my mind was wandering to things at home in the sewing department, things i wanted to do with certain pieces already started. so home i came to get on with it, i wonder how many of you have this problem? can't find the particular piece i wanted, so that has started a big sort out, still can't find it ( lots of others) and am so cross with myself and still searching!!!!!!! i will leave you with some photos of things that have given me great pleasure over the past few weeks, while i still search.
did santa damage this chimney?
some new feathered friends who came to live with me!
they are needlefelted by a very clever lady in hobart who lives in the suburb where my mother was born and grew up. sorry the photo does not do them justice, but i will show you better ones at a later date.
then returning home the garden looked oh so sad, i wonder if it will ever rain again in melbourne! but my potted succulents gave me great joy, i love them and the soft colours are so good.
and this dear little person, stitched with such detail by another clever artist in hobart.
i have spent the month with family and special friends having a happy time, 2009 will bring some new beginnings for alot of us, in all sorts of ways. i hope that your year is a good one and that you enjoy each moment. now off to the beach for a few days, down to philip island to swim, sit in the sun, ( the vitamin d is low ) to think and remember, laugh and have good conversation, sew and do some paper crafting with some new toys! and to celebrate that we live well in this land called australia.
