oh the pleasure of rain

here in my home city of melbourne, victoria, in this big land called australia, we have had some really good rain this weekend. oh what a pleasing sight it has been, i know that it probably spoilt some events and weddings etc., but the ground has been soaking it up and it has helped put out all the fires. the birds have been singing and the bird bath was full!

 

we had a sewing day on saturday, so it was good to be inside, listening to the rain and sewing and having 'a nice cup of tea'. one of the girls had finished this goddess in an array of great stitches.

 

it is going to made into a cushion.

My cousin and I have been building our own website and having a bit of fun along the way doing it, it is still in construction mode, but go on over and take a look if you are interested.

stitched birds

following on from my previous post, i have some birds for you to see that i have created and stitched on some of my projects. i really love working in wool and these are a mixture of plain colours and overdyed, dmc medici and gumnut daisies.

 

 

 

 

now i do hope these photos of my feathered friends come out without heads being chopped off or tails missing, it is not their fault if some of them are hiding, it is the editor of this blog who plods on not really knowing how to fix the problem, apologies, but well, i have fun. they also look darker than the original shots, so i don't know!!!!! oh well!!!!!
