all the stitches

a mammoth project is coming to an end after many hours and all the stitches and well done to one of my stitching friends, gloria. the pattern is from prairie schooler, a few years ago now, but has been a favourite of mine, each letter has alot of detail and is a very entertaining really as you see new bits all the time.

there is an interesting twist at the end of this and when it is finished i will show you the result of some planning gone wrong, but used to its advantage! it is gorgeous!

simone had finished her first handpieced quilt and brought it all bound and it had been slept under!

it was a kit she bought at one of the shows, how many things have you got in the cupboards that you got because you just had to have it at the time! i am very guilty!!! well done to you too simone, she started another one today.

and this is another quilt top marlene's daughter has put together, the large squares of fabric and the colours do all the talking here. the colour is being repeated in a piece of canvaswork, the design being created as the stitching is done once again in large squares.

that photo is a bit fuzzy, or maybe it is me, i have felt a bit fuzzy recently and there is only one hour to go and it will be may 31st !!!!!!!!!!!!

i was worried about jean from linen and raspberry  and i guess many of you maybe wondering about her also! she is ok, just working on a project at work which is taking all her creative energy and computer skills and has also involved travelling. she is just fine!

 

  

all finished !

the sewing girls have been very productive, here is a selection of what's been completed in the last few weeks and now they are all made up and all finished !!!!!!

you get a sneak preview, they pick them up tomorrow! so while i am preparing as much as i can of lunch tomorrow, i will post you these pictures to browse for the weekend! enjoy!

more circles, no ironing!

as promised much earlier today, much earlier!!!!!! more sewing!!!!!!

i have had a good long sleep and a full day of activity, the things we fit into a 24 hour period are varied, ever changing and interesting. mmmmmmmm!!!!!

here are some more circles my friend was stitching at our sewing day yesterday, now i have to cut out some more, she has caught up with me.

she was worried that they had not been ironed, sorry, very impatient of me not to wait
for them to be made beautiful, two of them are not quite complete!

now changing to different stitching! these classic cushions by elizabeth bradley were worked by a very dear lady, quite up in her years, but with great enthusiasm and ability! well done to you annie, they look beautiful, they came to me for making up. some lucky family members or friends are getting one for christmas. tapestry has not been so popular over the past few years, i guess it is too slow for some, but it is certainly a timeless craft.
