this past week, slipping from march to april, has been quite productive here at my place. i seem to be getting ready for something ??? not sure what yet really, but i have been preparing for something, i have been collecting and cutting and bagging different projects and generally having a very happy time.
ready to knit some socks, knitting with these wools is fascinating, i find it very addictive
these scraps and some others that i just could not throw away, i made into these bags, good for keeping projects together, all different sizes and shapes
i have completed the pineapple quilt top and preparing it for quilting
and so because i have finished a few things lately, i have started another one or two ! so i have been cutting out these tumbler shapes for another scrappy quilt, but there are rules, my rules, the fabrics have to be basically blue or green, here are just some of the ones i have chosen to work with
and i could not help just sewing a few together, i think it will be what i imagined
i am going into a blue phase maybe, i have also added to my spools
and i have also started some cross stitch
this is a blackbird design 'gathering basket', need the extra magnifying glasses on for this
this new little 'chick' has been looking over me also, a gift from my very best old friend !
and this is 'lola's quilt', the cross stitching done by her granny thelma and i decided to make it up into a quilt for 20 month old lola. it is the alphabet from the 'fairy tales' dmc, mango publication book available in my etsy store. this little book is packed with great charts for children. the quilt is going off to be custom quilted by machine, i will show you the competed quilt, the alphabet will really pop out !
daylight saving finished in this part of the world very early this morning, so we will have to get used to the evenings closing in, maybe i have just been getting ready for winter !
just on a personal note, i have been told i need to have two knee replacements, but followed by a reconstruction of both feet, all due to arthritis. is there anybody out there who has had both done, i would be interested to hear from you. i am having difficulty making the decision to go ahead.
footnote !!!!!!!! thanks to those who have told me knee stories, but in my case if i have my knees done (one at a time) i then have to commit to having my feet reconstructed , 6 months after each knee. a 3 month period of non weight bearing recovery after each foot.
now you know the real reason for preparing lots of things ready to keep me busy !
