for the last two weeks i have been living on a river, the derwent river, so much activity on this wide beautiful river that is so much part of hobart, tasmania.
looking towards the mouth of the river
and looking up the river, just 15 minutes drive away from the city !
the viewing deck outside is a great place to sit and contemplate from this old chair
or sitting at the dining table inside on this spectacular day ! i was making some templates and cutting out some fabric !
some purchases made at 'the quilted crow' a few days ago, it was good to see leonie and deidre at their 'heavenly' shop
so many different boats and ships pass by, this old training sailing boat went out the other day
and this one
and the sailing boat came back in assisted by a motor
and this boy and this dog were watching one afternoon, i should say two boys watching, because this dog thinks he is a person and has ruled the writer of this blog while i have been in residence here
and a beautiful rainbow came
and this looks like a new building in town, but it only came for twelve hours and then was gone again
left last night, dinner for the passengers at sea, after enjoyong the most perfect late spring day here in hobart, i wonder just where some of them went and what did they purchase whilst in town. cruise ships like this one are often seen coming in and out of the port of hobart on a very regular basis
this was the largest one that has ever been in to the port and is the 8th largest cruise ship in the world, sorry the name escapes me now, but was a beautiful sight !
a perfect apple for lunch one day here in the apple isle !
this hexagon ball has been given the workout by the dog person and me in the game you throw the ball and i'll keep running for it !!!
some sewing and
some knitting has been done
could this be my new home ?
yes in melbourne i have to look for a new home when i return, it's not that i have been evicted for being a bad tennant, circumstances change and i'm just on the receiving end
this is the old signal station at mount nelson
i then visited kingston beach, a place so special to me, and this old tree and its shadow was so beautiful as is this wonderful beach !
sampled some of the local salmon and baby pink eye potatoes for dinner one night, simply delicious !
also visited one of my favourite places, the drill hall at new norfolk, and purchased
'broderie'
and in melbourne today, emily and toby are being married !
good wishes and happy times to them both !
so you see living on a river and all that passes by is simply beautiful !
