after moving into my new house in melbourne, just 10 days later, i went to hobart for two weeks, staying in one of my homes away from home ! not everyone in that house had gone away, my boyfriend stayed to greet me !
he was a constant companion, probably got me into some trouble with the people of the house, but he was very happy !
i did some sewing, doing some much overdue hexagons, plus a bit of other things
some mixed blue fabric pieces made up into some binding for use by deb, my friend who lives in the house and playing with hexagons and colour
there were parts of the garden to be watered and a pumkin vine that had really taken off and lurking under many of the leaves you know what .................
plenty of pumpkins !
you can see i was quite fascinated by the pumpkins, plenty of pumpkin things on the menu in this house during the coming winter !
and plenty of these sweet homegrown tomatoes, beautiful flavour !
and the twists and turns in this old vine, recently cut back, reminded me of the twists and turns in life, too many things these days that happen that we have no control over, others that take some on a long journey to which there is no happy ending, some others where only part of the progress made suddenly turns an unknown corner and others that take us completely by surprise !
sometimes the course is known, the passing boats of all sorts on the derwent river !
the ships that pass, heading out to sea again after a day in hobart for the passengers
then one evening it was a case of 'ships that pass in the night' one leaving the port and another going up the river to take its place ! and all just out there in front of me
some more sewing, whirligigs this time
there is more and more, but i'll leave you with some beautiful pink sunsets !
on this particular evening, i'd like to think that heaven is in that fold of pink cloud
and a dog is very tired after being groomed and made feel special, roly had more beauty rest on his return from the groomer
ball tucked in just in case he feels like a game, but otherwise just very comfy with an eye on the view when you live on a river ! miss you roly, a good a faithful friend, loving unconditionally and wanting no more that a meal a day, a game or two or three and a pat and a nurse on your knee ! easy !
more unpacking to be done here, please someone turn on the cold switch...........
