so often when i'm heading down to hobart, people say 'oh it will be cold and wet down there' and i defend the climate and say it is much better sunshine wise than melbourne, my home city. but today, my last sunday here for this trip, it is wild, wet, and windy and quite miserable really, but the ever changing river views are lovely none the less !
i'm beginning to gather my things together for the trip home and this little collection on the side table of my stuff was worth recording i thought, things gifted to me by some of my lovely friends and a couple i added myself
i think they know my colour choices quite well
i purchased this from one of the many lovely galleries at salamanca, love a face on things
out and about on the streets of hobart, here in cascade road, south hobart with mount wellington towering over the scene, roadworks are everywhere you go
love some of the hobart houses, lovely old weatherboards
loved this tree on the beautiful blue sky
and back to the river again, looking out to the mouth
the lettuce are growing well with foxgloves and pansies and so is the vegetable garden
and back to the river again
sunset the other night
some puchases from the japanese fabric shop in kingston beach, lovely blues
just some scrap bags of cottons and silks, so muh to choose from, the shop is called wafu works and they have an online store. jan whose business it is knows the people well that now live in my grandmothers house, we had a very interesting conversation
on my return from new norfolk yesterday i walked in the door to this lovely rainbow greeting me
then later
in the gloom of the evening one of my tanker friends were leaving after loading up in hobart, and this morning the one that was anchored in the river just off from here also left, they had moved up the river last night
love their colour in the fading light of a rainy day and also today in the middle of a rain shower on the river
a chair in the garden at hobart at HOBART COTTAGE, a good place to sit and think and contemplate, i've been doing lots of that
it has been a happy time, some of it spent with friends visiting from home and interstate at the same time as I have been here, some of it spent with family, but alot of it spent on my own
well not on my own
here just back from having a bath after last weekend getting very wet and muddy and off lead rolled in something at the beach that was very smelly, lovely dog and constant companion roly
i'm trying to pack again, all those things i brought down to do that i have not touched and the clothes, you know what its like
