things are getting busy out there, i guess christmas time makes everything have a limit of time to it ! everything must happen before christmas !
slow down a bit i think and just enjoy the simple things, i do and i am, well let's face it, i can't rush round any more, so maybe i'm noticing the rush that is on just that bit more !
i have hung my christmas tags on the beautiful winter magnolia branches that soften a corner of my living room. the young flower buds have stayed put on the branches and are like small velvety spots of interest, love them !
meanwhile, before the christmas decorations went up i have been sewing these blocks and really enjoying the play with fabric
and they will all become part of this when all put together
all my sewing friends have been busy
our teacher and inspirer 'mrs sew & so', gail has been doing some more of her poppies on a quilt
jan has been doing some lovely work in very soft silken colours
her daughter has said she would love the throw when it is finished, so jan is very happy about that.........
marion is working on some birds, we all had a lovely day sewing at kyneton on show day, the town was very busy, we checked out the shops, bought our lunch and settled in for the day
thanks noelle and john for having us again this year ! noelle was playing with some redwork panels and patchwork borders
john was out in the garden preparing the veggie beds. the garden is only just 2 years old and the growth is just amazing, more photos to come
beverley is using her delightful little bag for her sewing and it is just beautiful ! the linen used here started life out as a teatowel, but is now in a much happier place embroidered with the miniature version of the 'mrs sew & so" poppies !
red and white spots and stripes featured here with the mugs and tin, always a great fresh combination
the scarecrow had frightened the gardener to have a good rest on the back deck ! the gardener was also a very patient man with the household of stitchers for the day !
two new cushions done by jan again, they are lovely and looked well on the white couches !
i also loved noelle's whimisical pea cushion !
and up the garden path at the side of the house the roses were abundant, everything was just smiling on this lovely day
and i loved the mint and daisies coming up through the back steps !
popping in a pineapple on a medallion quilt i'm doing !
love my paper pears on the shelf !
love cards, and i think i bought this one in hobart last year....... it's got everything ! a crown wearing goose. a pear, a pineapple and sharyn, a lady bird !!!
and earlier this year we lost a very dear friend, to celebrate what would have been her birthday, i invited her god mother and very close friend to visit. we had only met briefly at her funeral .......... she was very interested in synchronicity ......... we were most surprised when her god mother and another friend arrived both wearing the same pretty shirts, first time they had met each other !!! i would like to think that this is a sign that our much loved friend is in a happy place somewhere and sending the colourful waves to two of her friends that miss her so much !
and been loving the sweet peas that a stitching and crafting friend has been bringing me, just enjoy them so much on the windowsill !
and so that rudolph with his nose so bright knows that this house is reindeer friendly, i have one of his mates on the windowsill now for christmas
i'll be back in the next few days with some more wonderful work the sewing girls have been doing, it's now into the next day for me, after midnight and i better go to bed !
this dove was having a lovely bath in the garden the other morning, a reminder to put some water out for the birds during what may be a long hot summer !
