it's not just me, everyone is noticing it, the year is whizzing by............
back to anzac day, a simply beautiful day weatherwise here in the city of melbourne, australia, where i live. in the afternoon there is always a football match (australian rules) at the melbourne cricket ground. yes i know it sounds confusing, football at a cricket ground, but both sports are played there, cricket in the summer and football in the winter. i was watching at home but just took these shots from the television, its a great place to be when filled to capacity, about 100,000 people, something to experience
for non local people, it is set just on the outskirts of the city, within walking distance, and here's a birdseye view into the wonderful arena
i think if you live in this country, it should be a place you visit to experience the atmosphere !
a couple of new patterns have been added to the shop recently, this one above from christine vlasic, go and check them out, maybe you need a new project to start, winter here in australia very soon
embroidery from 'mrs sew & so' or quilt patterns are available, here is the latest one 'carousel', below, from sandra boyle, a bundle of those have just been added
there are others from margaret sampson george and trish harper to choose from
jan has added more texture to her embroidery by quilting the background, its now ready to be made up into a bag
i'm still getting some pretty geraniums off the bush in the garden, love them on the windowsill in the kitchen, you know i love pears
here is 'out of the blue', ( pattern available in the shop) designed by margaret sampson george and made about 18 months ago as our raffle quilt, the chequerboard was made up of fabric prints and the plain pieces are a mix of old linens, damasks, serviettes, doilies and teatowels. fun to see what you can find to add interest to your quilt !
this is 'noughts & crosses' by trish harper
'galaxy' by trish harper
lots to choose from if you want a new project or pattern
