my last post was headed 'one more sleep' and so it is again today ! but this time it's christmas day tomorrow, so we all have one more sleep and in many younger lives the excitement and sense of expectation will be reaching the very high levels ! i'm looking forward to 'carols by candlelight' tonight from my home city of melbourne, australia ! love that tradition !
following is just some pics that i have taken over the last couple of months, with a little conversation thrown in
i hosted another margaret sampson george workshop at the end of november and so many of the girls were nearing completion of their quilts ! this was tracey's
amanda's was also looking wonderful, still stitching
barb was designing her 'msg elements bag"
and catherine was making a start of a new quilt top
carolyn was seeking more advice on the direction and fabrics to be used next in borders etc
marie was ready to add borders after a little more sewing down of her applique, this was looking very beautiful
perfect borders marie and we all love that yuwa linen stripey spotty !
narelle had finished her top and had the borders all waiting to be added, twelve months of lots of stitching was nearing an end ! this is also a very beautiful quilt top !
some detail of narelle's corners and also her borders
and another corner
sharon from bairnsdale was starting her first quilt at a msg workshop along with melissa ! i have known these two gorgeous girls since by days at 'bustle and bows' in east malvern and it has been lovely to catch up with them a couple of times this year
sharon is using some of her collected fabrics, she is a good shopper, they both are, what a team
julie had completed 'bombay blooms' and was getting some quilting ideas
and barb had finished her quilt top, it's all now basted and ready to quilt
wendy had made great headway with her gorgeous piecing for her version of jane pizar, love the colours
down on the floor consultation was an option here ! oh to be able to get down like that ! knee envy
and another finish, angela's 'going blue gradually' ! all very good students, so many finishes
and angela's elements bag, whichever way you looked at it
it was beautiful, many of us all purchased some of the background fabric too, whatever she had, we wanted
and the other maree's combination of quilts, this gorgeous strippy has so many beautiful fabrics in it ! the border ones is a gorgeous chintz maree has had in her collection ! follow maree on instagram @tardymaree she often has some lovely bits for sale
and anne has chosen colours way outside her usual choices, but has done it so well ! we think we have tapped her hidden inner personality
some of the detail of the small vases
the embroidery girls under the guidance of 'mrs sew and so' have also been completing lots of beauties ! this is barb's beautiful cushion ! our thoughts have been with sandra this year, usually very busy making up all of our embroidered pieces into masterpieces ! say a little prayer for sandra as she battles her health problems ! thanks to everyone for your understanding of the present situation
most appropriately gail 'mrs sew and so' came dressed in her embroidered shirt to our last sewing day for the year last saturday
we all think a new project will be attempted next year, watch out for a good white linen shirt in the sales maybe
i think this post is probably long enough, have you all snoozed off ? just a little bit of christmas to finish off
a little corner of my room, i love hydrangeas and we are happy to have them in this part of the world in summer
keep the love of christmas happening for longer than a few days ! that is my wish, the world would be a better place
from the twinkling magnolia branches at my place, have yourselves a very merry christmas
i will pop back next week ..............................
