i know we all keep saying it, but don't the weeks just fly by and turn into months, here it is the end of july nearly and i'm just catching up with my blog writing ! lots of pictures to share with you !
my friend marlene has finished her version of the morrel quilt, a pattern of di ford's, its been put away for her daughter to enjoy in future years
she included this little cross stitch as one of the squares
i have been having a lend of christine vlasic's version of the 'burnt quilt' another pattern of di ford's, i just love this this quilt, so beautiful and feel very honoured to have been able to look after it for part of my life
i have to say my beds get a real workout for displaying so many quilts that belong to me and others, we are always gathering round it to view them
and irene did a workship with me and margaret sampson george sometime ago and this is her lovely quilt top almost finished, little by little they get there, this is looking great
and in the hoop on embroidery days with 'mrs sew and so' all the girls are making great progress
i just love all the texture
this is eva's, all those beautifully even stitches
once again the texture is wonderful
and this very grand looking hare, you will see more of him a bit later
this quilt is 'come in spinner' by christine vlasic, so pretty and the pattern is available in my etsy store, the link is on the side bar along with many other patterns by christine and other friends, go and take a look, such a great lot of patterns by australian designers
i have been very spoiled by a lovely friend who finished quilting my 'not the levans hall' quilt inspired by margaret sampson george's version. well if i told the real truth, my good friend quilted most of it, very fortunate and i'm just so appreciative ! binding on over the weekend !
it's on my bed again of course !
and on another bed is 'primavera' design and pattern by christine vlasic, this is wendy's version, so beautuful
this pattern is also available from my etsy store, such alot of fun to make with all its mixes and matches
a serious discussion was taking place here, gotta get everything is the right place
back to the embroidery girls, this is jan's beautiful work
this is cynthia's embroidery, beautiful colour combinations and once again the texture on the stripe linen teatowel from 'est' in auburn road, hawthorn in melbourne ! i love these towels for embroidery !
from every angle, its lovely
here he is that gorgeous hare again, and a close up of the detail
this carolyn's version of 'marrakesh' another of christine vlasic's patterns, several versions of this are happening in this group of friends and they all have their own personalities
this one above is Jenny's version of 'marrakesh'
and below is a sneak peek at another of christine's quilts that we all love and you will too i'm sure, soon to be a pattern and just waiting for that scrappy look and the use of all your small pieces
and with this past weekend just gone, it was time for another lovely weekend with margaret sampson george and my group of devotees, the above is a part picture of marg's 'spring fever' quilt top, just using beautiful pieces of fabric and some embroidery for texture
with some of marg's well known and loved images, all 'elements' of her beautiful work ! inspiring as always !
this is wendy's beautiful finished centre of her version of 'jane pizar', this is really lovely, she has finished all the outer pieces too, but is keeping us in suspense to seeing it all put together
anne has done this lovely version of 'out of the blue', a marg pattern that is available from my etsy shop, it is the best value for money for getting so many of those signature 'elements' in one pattern that are all so loved in an msg quilt, take a look in the etsy shop for it and others
sharon was working on her 'elements bag', there are so many beautiful ones being made ! this was lots of fun with its animal theme, with bugs and sheep and the bunny family portraits
and tracey had finished an msg inspired quilt, all quilted and been on the bed, her bed, not mine
it just lovely with her own bits in it, so gorgeous
so now you are up to date almost, i did say lots of pics and few words ! there will be more !
i'm going down to hobart next week for some house and dog sitting, yes lots of roly pics coming your way, we will both be taking it easy for a little time, i'm looking forward to a change away from the home routine, will miss all the comings and cups of tea here at home here, but a change for us all is good
i will report in from down there more reliably as i'll have more to time to myself and i'll be sewing
till next time
