Winter and the opening of the ski season here in Victoria has come to town and we have had some very beautiful days, clear blue skies and sunshine, a very clear night sky to see the new moon, which has all meant that we have had some very chilly mornings ! Mind you I’m a night owl and early mornings for me are only for very special events in my life these days !
The new moon ! These photos were taken by a friend who lives in the ‘jungle’ near Byron Bay ! I love them, Harry is such a good moon photographer just with his Canon
and in May, on the 19th, this for who ever were interested, were able to watch a Royal Wedding and I had a front row seat in front of my television. All the Saturday sewing girls were here during the day and excitement was building. They were teasing me about all staying to watch with me, but I have always just liked watching such events on my own, no interjections, no interruptions ! And I did and loved every moment !
Not in order, but just some reminders of some moments ! Yes I loved it
and also I have seen some lovely stitching finishes from my friends
Trish Harper’s finished version of the Lucy Boston quilt design is just sooo very beautiful, all paper pieced and stitched by hand and also hand quilted. It’s just a beautiful vision and version !
So pretty, all those beautiful florals that we have loved and bought a piece of over many years
on the table for basting also has been Maree’s quilt, 1”hexagons all paper pieced and beautiful in its eclectic mix of fabrics that just work together because they are fabric !
Jenny’s version of ‘Flying By’ quilt design and pattern by Christine Vlasic
And also another Jenny’s Carousel quilt by Sandra Boyle
So many of the blades in Jenny’s Carousel quilt were made from my scrap basket, a very interesting mix, but it works beautifully
i had a quick trip to Tasmania for an engagement party, here are the happy couple Bec and Nick
I took some sewing with me of course and stitched up some more of my Tussie Mussie blocks, pattern from Christine Vlasic of Yarra Designs
Im using some gentle prints for my version using some of the many new and old florals available, enjoying these Tussie Mussies
and I spent time in Hobart with some of the dogs I love
Chloe and Archie on alert above
Roly who was getting better after his second cruciate ligament repair still had his bucket collar in place and was not allowed to be jumping about, and below Chloe on my bed one morning
I thought this was going to be a quick post but I have found plenty to report on, things happen from day to day even when you live a pretty quiet life ! Contented I am just to be, doing what I can, when I can
number 3 in the series of ‘It’s in the Bag’, Blondie’s Bucket Bag is ready to release and here are some photos
So that’s it from me for now, my patterns along with others are available in my Etsy shop, go and take a look, maybe a new project or just something else to add to your sewing world
